All Travellers are Welcome by Jeff Roland (France)

Fast judgment and fear of differences leads people to feel threatened by strangers, and yet, we ‘re all on the same journey across the universe, and everything that happens to others can pretty well happen to us. History has given us so many examples of apparently peaceful and reliable situations that changed very suddenly. And more, as we see global warming reshaping the Earth little by little, we must be prepared to welcome the people whose lands will become inhospitable and learn to share. I created a painting a few years ago as an answer to those who repeated that ‘strangers’ should not be welcome here, in France, and thus it is entitled.”

I create bold, colourful pieces which reflect a constant desire to explore the human psyche. Born in France in 1969, he has sold works to collectors in France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Norway, Canada, Italy, etc. My work is part of the London Museum of Everything Collection and the Barcelona Davis Museum collection. I am contributing to World Citizen Artists because I believe that the community of artists, made up of groups and individualities, can’t exist without the notion that the World is One, United, sharing the same dreams and hopes, and that no matter our differences, we share far more than what makes us unique. Each artist by propelling her or his view of the world into the public sphere, contributes to building one common, shared vision, that of a complex, vibrant, magical and beautiful experience: the Human experience.”
